Beaufort is beautiful by daylight. After dark, our pirate guides peel back that carefree beauty and reveal the town underneath: the tragedies, mysteries, legends, and people that time nearly taught us to forget.

For more than twenty years, the Beaufort Ghost Walk has blended sourced local history, coastal folklore, pirates, hauntings, and live storytelling into an experience unlike an ordinary walking tour.

We don’t simply lead you from one “haunted stop” to another.

The town itself becomes the story.

Walk the same streets as sailors, soldiers, merchants, families, and pirates. Hear the history behind Blackbeard and discover the man behind the beard. Learn why porch ceilings turned haint blue, what the marsh remembers, and what happened in places where today there may be little, or nothing, left to see.

The Beaufort Ghost Walk is a pirate-led storytelling performance where documented history meets the darker folklore of the Carolina coast.

Haints and ghost lights. Shipwrecks and epidemics. Blackbeard and the Graveyard of the Atlantic. Love, betrayal, strange deaths, forgotten graves, and stories that survived long after the people inside them disappeared.

History tells us what happened. Folklore tells us what people feared, wondered about, and refused to forget.

And sometimes the most interesting part of a story is the space where the two meet.

You’ll laugh. You may get genuinely frightened. Some stories may catch you unexpectedly and stay with you long after the walk is over.

Because the goal isn’t simply to convince you that Beaufort has ghosts.
